Fire

Fire, fierce, and burning wild
With tender infancy of child.
Must rely on others to be fed
And if neglected, ends up dead.
With a bit of water, it's killed so fast,
But fire's light can't be surpassed.
Though only known for how it kills,
Or as a metaphor for passionate thrills,
I still have untold faith in fire
For more than reasons of desire.
Inside all of us is the spark of life,
That leads us all through personal night,
Each of us finding different pathways,
That light makes us who we are today.
Though it can destroy and hurt and burn,
There's more to fire one must learn.
For life itself, it cannot be
Without the fire that burns in you and me.

Yeah, I don't know what to classify it as poetry-wise, so let's just go with nature, ya? I highly doubt it matters.

My friend Keith sent me a message on myspace that I replied to with this poem, so he's the inspiration I guess.... x3

Wow, bellisima. It's a little shorter then most of your poems but it's just as good. Definately paints a mutiple perspective on fire and how it is perseved.

"I'm a British Nanny. And I'm Dangerous" - Shoot 'Em Up Movie Poster
"9 out of 10 high school girls love Twighlight, I'm just part of the other 10%" - Me
Thanks lovely. :3

Yeah it's shorter but I like the rhyming in this one a lot better than in a lot of my other ones.

Lol see what I mean? A total Fire-Bender poem xD

"And the wind
And the wind I know it's cold
I've been waiting
For the day I will surely die
And it's here
And it's here for I've been told
That I'll die before I'm old
And the wind I know it's cold..."

Hmm, can't say I agree with all of your views on that... Fire is not actually a nessesity for all living things, and certainly not for all poeple.

Unless you are counting the sun as fire, wich makes more sense...

There's no "I" in team, but there's a "we" in weapon.
Hehe, bet you did that after watching Avatar. ;P

I really like the last part
"For life itself, it cannot be
Without the fire that burns in you and me."

If you spend your life waiting for something to happen, then nothing will.
Oh! I just thought of something! (I don't know why I didn't think of this before)

You should join IndyFluency. :O [link]

It's a conveniently sized site of writers where you submit your pieces and people vote on them and give them feedback.

It's got a really nice environment and I'm sure you'd like it and I'm also sure they'd love your poetry. :P

And, on topic: This is a nice poem. Very cool like the rest of your poetry. :P

It looks pretty cool. It usually takes me forever to decide whether or not to join a site, so I'll have to think about it for a bit. :P

Thanks for the fav and the kind words :P

Surprisingly, no...xD Though after writing it, I was like "...Wow. Fire-Bender much?"

Thanks, I do too, though I also like the
"I have untold faith in fire
For reasons other than desire" (though I probably paraphrased) bit. :3 I like the rhyming in this one better than usual.

Well the sun is like the patron saint of fire, so naturally, it is counted. :3
